Retail is in panic. Stores are closing all over. OK, as if that is not bad enough we have mall rents rising. It is had to imagine how department stores can survive. Basically, this is for many game over. Malls are shutting down and boarding up. Just look at all the empty spaces.

Look at JC penny. They will join sears soon. Digital discounters keep on growing. However, the outlook for physical malls is grim.

James Damore

James Damore was fired by Google just a few days ago.  He gives what he believes the reason is. Being politically correct often makes people shut up. After all, we do not want to get fired as we have bills to pay. Sadly, the result is that we cannot have a conversation about what is going on. Resolving problems first presupposes that we admit that they exist and discovering that finding a solution is possible in our universe.

The solar eclipse is coming soon. Small town america is cashing in. People want to see a dark sun. Well, there are dangers to you eyes. Hey, we can agree. Still, there is some eye protection that we can wear.

Google cancels the company meeting on diversity crisis. I do wonder what the reason is. Perhaps we can have Google tell us. Most of us feel this meeting is an important first step, but we could be wrong. Certainly, we should address most issues. Firing James Damore just gave him more ammo. Sundar Pichai believes that hitting the fire button was necessary. Hey, we do not agree. Most of us feel that it is important to keep freedom of expression. It is a value that we should indeed strive to preserve.

Law could make smart phones illegal if you are young. State power is in an expansion. What we see is rights erosion.

Uber drivers gang up. The result is surge pricing. Fellow, we do not ask you if this is a surprise. Most of us already know our answer. Hey, it can get expensive. Well, this is especially true on foggy days when it rains.
